Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) Detector, GB/T 7247.1 Certification
When conducting GB/T 7247.1 certification for Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) detectors, the main focus is on the classification of laser safety
levels. Below is a bullet-pointed summary of the key points related to this certification:
1. Scope of application of the standard
GB/T 7247.1-2024 (equivalent to IEC 60825-1:2014) applies to laser products with a wavelength range from 180 nm to 1 mm. As a device with an
internal laser light source, the distributed fiber optic temperature measurement detector needs to be classified and certified according to this standard
for laser safety levels.
II. Classification Requirements for Laser Safety Levels
Distributed fiber optic temperature detectors are typically required to meet Class 1 laser safety standards. Class 1 laser products are considered safe
under reasonably foreseeable conditions of use, including the use of optical instruments for observation within the beam.
III. Core testing items
Certification testing mainly includes the following:
Reachable emission level detection: measuring the actual radiation output intensity of laser products
Laser radiation measurement: Assessing the potential hazards of laser radiation to the human body
Product category determination: Determine the laser safety level based on the measurement results
IV. Engineering Protection Requirements
The standard sets out clear requirements for the protective design of laser products:
Protective cover: The product needs to be equipped with an appropriate laser protective cover
Shutter and safety interlock: prevent accidental laser exposure
Remote control interlock connector: supports remote safety control
Laser radiation emission warning: Equip with necessary warning devices
Beam stopper or attenuator: used to control laser output
V. Requirements for labeling and instructions
The product's outer packaging and the device itself must be clearly marked with laser level identification and warning signs
The instruction manual must contain complete safety information and operational warnings
It is necessary to correctly identify the laser classification, protective measures, and usage guidance
VI. Certification Body and Testing Qualifications
Laser safety testing must be conducted by testing institutions that are recognized in China and internationally recognized, and the test report
can be used for product type inspection, factory inspection, and market access.
VII. Practical application cases
In engineering bidding and product testing, distributed fiber optic linear heat fire detectors have been explicitly required to comply with GB/T 7247.1
for laser safety, and the inspection conclusion is usually Class 1 laser safety level.
