We provide professional optical product testing services (laser product safety testing and performance parameter testing, photobiological safety testing for non‑laser products), as well as energy efficiency testing services (EU ErP energy efficiency testing, US DOE energy efficiency testing, California CEC energy efficiency testing), among others.
If you have requirements for laser products (laser product safety testing and laser performance parameter testing) and energy efficiency testing (EU ErP energy efficiency testing, US DOE energy efficiency, California CEC energy efficiency, UK energy efficiency testing), please feel free to email us at: admin@ctnt-cert.com
Demand for air purifiers continues to rise in the North American market, attracting numerous cross-border e-commerce sellers to enter this segment. However, Amazon US has tightened compliance controls for electrically powered products. A qualified UL test report must be obtained before listing air purifiers; otherwise, product listings may be taken down or restricted.

Amazon US explicitly requires that all electrically powered products must come with UL test reports issued by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory for normal sales or reinstatement of suspended listings.
Many sellers confuse these two concepts. The key differences are clarified below:
UL Test Report: Tests are performed on product samples. No factory audit is required. It features lower cost and shorter lead time, and is primarily used for Amazon platform review and listing approval.
UL Certification: A voluntary certification that includes factory audits (quarterly audits). It has higher costs and longer timelines, with broader market recognition, applicable to offline retail stores, overseas marketing and other scenarios.
For household air purifiers sold on Amazon US, UL 507 (Safety Standard for Electric Fans, under which air purifiers are classified) is the primary standard. If the product is equipped with UV sterilization, plasma, negative ion or other optical radiation functions, additional optical radiation safety assessment is required on top of basic electrical safety testing.
Submit product documents: specification sheet, circuit diagram, nameplate, BOM list
Send test samples to an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
Complete full-scope testing. Support for corrective actions if the product fails testing items
Issue the UL test report acceptable for Amazon review once testing passes
Laboratories without ISO17025 accreditation: Their reports will be rejected directly by Amazon.
Mismatch between model/nameplate information on the report and product details on your listing, leading to failed platform review.
Air purifiers with UV / laser sterilization functions that only complete basic UL507 testing without optical radiation assessment face risks of secondary listing removal.
