Applicable regulatory framework

ERP Directive 2009/125/EC (Ecological Design Directive): Setting mandatory ecological design requirements

Energy Efficiency Labeling Regulation (EU) 2017/1369: Replace the old Regulation (EU) No 1060/2010 to regulate the energy efficiency labeling system

Product specific implementation regulations: Electric ovens are subject to (EU) No 65/2014 (Ecological Design Requirements for Household Cooking 

Utensils) and (EU) No 392/2012 (Energy Efficiency Labeling Requirements)


Scope of application defined

Covering household electric ovens (including embedded and independent)

Partial commercial or professional use electric ovens may be exempted, specific evaluation is required

Gas ovens are subject to different regulatory systems and are not included in this category

Energy Efficiency Index (EEI)

Calculate the ratio of energy consumption based on standard test cycles to reference energy consumption
