Leveraging our core and differentiated strengths, we provide you with high-quality, comprehensive technology services
More
We provide professional optical product testing services (laser product safety testing and performance parameter testing, photobiological safety testing for non‑laser products), as well as energy efficiency testing services (EU ErP energy efficiency testing, US DOE energy efficiency testing, California CEC energy efficiency testing), among others.
If you have requirements for laser products (laser product safety testing and laser performance parameter testing) and energy efficiency testing (EU ErP energy efficiency testing, US DOE energy efficiency, California CEC energy efficiency, UK energy efficiency testing), please feel free to email us at: admin@ctnt-cert.com
1、 Standard positioning
GB/T 7247.1 is a Chinese national standard, which is equivalent to the international standard IEC 60825-1. Its full name is "Safety of Laser Products
Part 1: Equipment Classification, Requirements and User Guidelines". This standard is a safety basic requirement that laser products (including laser
flip pens) must meet for sale in the Chinese market.
2、 Classification of laser flip pens
According to GB/T 7247.1, laser flip pens usually belong to the following categories:
Class 1 laser products: safe under normal usage conditions and do not require additional protective measures.
Class 1M laser products: Similar to Class 1, but there may be risks when using optical instruments for observation.
Class 2 laser products: visible light laser, blink reflection can provide protection, power generally does not exceed 1mW. Most laser flip pens on the
market belong to this category.
3R class laser products: slightly higher power (not exceeding 5mW), requiring certain safety warnings.
If the flip pen exceeds the 3R category (such as reaching 3B or 4 categories), it is not suitable for sale as a regular consumer electronics product.
3、 Core requirements for certification
1. Safety limits for laser radiation
The output power of the product must be strictly controlled within the limit range of its category, with sufficient safety margin.
2. Identification and warning labels
The product body and packaging must clearly indicate:
Laser category (such as "Class 2 laser products")
Warning message (such as "Do not look directly at the laser beam")
Declaration in accordance with GB/T 7247.1
Maximum output power value
3. Structural design requirements
The laser emission port should have appropriate physical protection
Switch design should avoid accidental triggering
Long term holding should not cause overheating or abnormal power increase
4. Instruction manual requirements
Must be accompanied by a Chinese manual, which includes:
Laser safety level description
Precautions for use
Prohibited behaviors (such as prohibiting exposure to human eyes, prohibiting pointing at aircraft)
Fault handling suggestions
4、 Testing items
Certification testing typically includes the following:
Laser power measurement: Confirm that the actual output power is consistent with the nominal category
Wavelength measurement: Confirm whether the laser wavelength is within the nominal range
Achievable emission limit (AEL) verification: Ensure that the maximum allowable emission value for the corresponding category is not exceeded
Identification check: Verify the completeness and accuracy of warning labels and nameplate information
Manual review: Confirm that the safety tips are sufficient and meet the standard requirements
5、 Relationship with CCC certification
GB/T 7247.1 itself is not an independent certification project within the CCC (China Compulsory Certification) catalog, but as an information technology
equipment or office equipment product, the laser safety performance of the laser flip pen needs to be evaluated according to GB/T 7247.1 when
applying for CCC certification. That is to say, laser safety is one of the technical requirements that must be covered in CCC certification.
6、 Common non-compliance issues
The actual laser power exceeds the standard, with a nominal Class 2 but actually reaching Class 3B
The product lacks Chinese warning labels or the labeling is not standardized
The manual lacks necessary laser safety tips
The laser emission port lacks necessary physical protection design
7、 Compliance recommendations
Select laser power based on GB/T 7247.1 during the product design phase
Entrust qualified third-party testing institutions to conduct type tests
Ensure that the information on the product nameplate, packaging, and instructions is consistent and meets the standard requirements
Retain complete testing reports and technical documents for market supervision spot checks
